La Jolla held a 1–0 lead at halftime before increasing their margin in the second half. Cathedral kept fighting, breaking through when Gianna Johnson ’26 scored off a well-placed assist from Audrey Zolfaghari ’26. In goal, Emma Forster ’27 anchored the Dons’ defense with an impressive 19 saves, keeping Cathedral within striking distance for much of the match.

The game also served as a celebration of Cathedral Catholic’s seniors, recognizing their leadership, commitment, and contributions to the program both on and off the field. Congrats to Gianna Johnson, Avery Wahl, Audrey Zolfaghari, Madeline Brown, Sofia Durazo, Addison Lomotan, Emily Lowitz, Lyla Palecek, Summer Geall, and Tessa Granieri.

“Our seniors have given so much to this program,” said the coaching staff. “They’ve set the tone for effort and resilience, and tonight was a great reflection of that.”
