Rob Reiter ’92 Inducted into California Baseball Coaches’ Association Hall of Fame

The California Baseball Coaches’ Association (CBCA) has announced its 2025 Hall of Fame inductees and Cathedral Catholic is proud to celebrate one of its own, longtime pitching coach and alumnus Rob Reiter ’92.

Reiter, a social science teacher here at Cathedral for 25 years, has also served as the program’s pitching coach for the same span, helping to shape the Dons into one of California’s premier high school baseball programs. His journey began with a season as head JV coach at West Hills High School before returning home to Cathedral, where he has become a cornerstone of the baseball staff.

Over the years, Reiter has guided and developed countless standout pitchers, including:

  • Brady Aiken ’14, the first overall pick in the 2014 MLB Draft
  • Daniel Camarena ’11, the first pitcher since 1898 to hit a grand slam for his first MLB hit
  • Stephen Gonsalves ’13, MLB pitcher for the Minnesota Twins
  • Nick Nastrini ’18, a former Dodgers prospect, made his MLB debut with the Chicago White Sox

Alongside his longtime colleague, Coach Gary Remiker ’90, Reiter has played a pivotal role in leading Cathedral Catholic to eight CIF section titles. In April 2024, the duo achieved the impressive milestone of 500 career wins. Coaching together since 2001, they have not only established a successful program but have also positively influenced the lives of countless student-athletes, creating a legacy that reaches far beyond the playing field.

This year’s induction further elevates Reiter’s status, as he joins Coach Gary Remiker, who was inducted into the CBCA Hall of Fame in 2024.

Speaking about the 500-win milestone, Gary had this to say, “This honor is a testament to Coach Reiter’s passion for the game and his unwavering commitment to our student-athletes. His impact on our players’ lives goes far deeper than strikeouts and ERA. He’s helped shape them into young men ready to take on life.”

The CBCA Hall of Fame recognition solidifies what the Cathedral Catholic community has long known: Rob Reiter is not just a great coach, but a true leader, mentor and builder of champions.
