Lady Dons Tennis Recap

 Cathedral Catholic girls tennis finished the 2022 season as semi-finalists in the CIF San Diego Section Open Division. This was a tremendous effort, but that wasn’t the only highlight of the season. The team was led by number 1 singles player, Irene Torres ’24 and went undefeated in regular season play – taking home the Western League title. Irene won the Individual Western League tournament and was named Western League Player of the Year. Irene, along with freshman, Scarlett Lee ’26 and Jenna Yablonicky ’26, were named 1st Team All City Conference. 10 of our players also qualified for the CIF Individual Tournament, giving strong representation to Cathedral Catholic in the event.

 With only one senior on the varsity team in 2022, this young team expects to come back strong in 2023.
