Cathedral Catholic Dance Team Named San Diego Grand Champions

The Cathedral Catholic Dance Team launched their season in spectacular fashion, earning the title of San Diego Grand Champions at the San Diego Grand Championships hosted by Rancho Bernardo High School. Competing against top teams from San Diego, the Dons showcased their dedication, precision, and artistry, delivering standout performances in both solo and group categories.

Rancho Bernardo High School was the host and ran another amazing and well organized event.

Solo Highlights:

• Zoey Hibbs ’28: 7th Place Freshman Solo
• Brooke Szekeres ’27: 8th Place Sophomore Solo
• Lyla Lee ’27: 3rd Place Sophomore Solo
• Sydney Benkler-Iglewicz ’26: 9th Place Junior Solo
• Bianca Santomauro ’26: 7th Place Junior Solo
• Makayla Gibbons ’25: 4th Place Senior Solo
• Zsofia Grenevitch ’25: 1st Place Senior Solo & 3rd Place Recompete

Group Highlights:

• Medium Lyrical: 1st Place
• Small Lyrical: 1st Place
• Medium Pom: 1st Place
• Small Contemporary: 1st Place (also awarded Best Technique)
• Medium Hip Hop: 4th Place
