Dance Opens Up Competition Season


The Cathedral Catholic Dance Team made a memorable debut at WCE Newbury Park, debuting their competition team with standout performances over the weekend. Amid stiff competition, the Dons displayed confidence and precision, creating an exciting glimpse of the upcoming season.

The team delivered standout performances across multiple routines, earning top honors in several divisions. Cathedral Catholic captured first-place finishes in Medium Pom and Medium Lyrical, added a second-place finish in Small Jazz, and earned the prestigious Best Choreography award for Medium Lyrical, an achievement that speaks to both the dancers’ execution and the routine’s creativity.

Individually, the Dons were equally impressive across all age groups. In the Dance of the Year Finals, Cathedral Catholic placed multiple dancers among the top finishers. Strong results followed in every division, underscoring the program’s depth and talent.

This competition marked a significant milestone for the program, highlighting the dedication and commitment of the dancers and coaching staff. Cathedral Catholic extends sincere thanks to coaches Nicole ‘Nikki” LuciaAlexa HueyKC HellenKamp, and Kristen Hibbs for their unwavering support, leadership, and belief in the team.

With a successful debut now in the books and momentum on their side, the Cathedral Catholic Dance Team is just getting started.
