Dons Summer Camps



The 2023 Dons Summer Camp was a hit! Thank you to all of our families who signed their children up for these fun and enriching experiences. Registration is now open for our 2024 Dons Summer Camps. There are a variety of camp offerings in several areas: Academics And Enrichment, Arts, Athletics, and STEM. Our athletic camps and details are listed out below but go to camp registration for a full list of offerings.

  • Session 1: Monday through Friday from June 17 – 21 & June 24 – 28
  • Session 2: Monday through Friday from July 8 – 12  & July 15 – 19

 

 


Dons Football Camp

Monday, June 10th – Friday, July 12th
Event Policy: Families have until May 31 to get a refund if they choose to cancel their attendance at a camp. No refunds will be given after May 31.
 
Location: Manchester Stadium
 
Dons Football Camps – Learn from the best! Learn football fundamentals from some of the best coaches in the state. The Dons coaching staff has won 12 CIF Titles and 3 State Championship by teaching the fundamentals of football for sound play and safety. Head Coach Sean Doyle, Defensive Coordinator John Montali, and Offensive Coordinator Ebere Winston will all run these camps with assistance from current Cathedral Catholic Dons varsity football players. These are NON-contact camps. Campers will develop their football skills and play football.
 
The 6th – 8th grade camps will teach more advanced skills per position.
The morning camp will be for 1st – 5th graders and the afternoon camp will be 6th – 8th graders.

Dons Basketball Camp

Dons Basketball Camps are designed to help develop and improve youth basketball skills. Our camps will include breakdowns of basic offense, defense, and team skills needed to become a competitive basketball player. We will help players grow in a safe and fun environment. This camp is OPEN to boys and girls!

Girls Flag Football

Monday, June 17th – Friday, June 28th

Dons Flag Football Camp for Girls // With flag football now CIF sport in the high schools, Girls Flag Football will become one of the fastest growing sports in the state. During Flag Football Camp, girls will have fun reviewing the concepts, game play, and strategies of one of the fastest growing sports in the country. Girls will review the basics of route running, pass catching, throwing, flag pulling and other basics.

Keep It Moving / Best of Recess

Monday, June 17th – Friday, July 26th

Location: Classroom and campus
 
A quality health, wellness, and physical education program supports the physical, intellectual, and social-emotional development of students while having fun and meeting new people. When students maintain an adequate level of physical fitness and make healthy choices, the conditions, and opportunities for learning increase. For these reasons, health, wellness, and physical education plays an integral role in a comprehensive educational program. This camp will include a rotating schedule of all your favorite games! From kickball, 4 square, tag, hula hoop tag, volleyball, spike ball, hide and seek, dodgeball, cornhole, relay races, bocce ball, hopscotch, capture the flag and so much more! The wide spectrum of sports and recreation activities provide campers with a unique opportunity for both skill and social development. Our goal is to provide a positive, caring, and fun environment for campers to develop a lifetime of sportsmanship and a healthy physically active lifestyle. There will be something for everyone. This is a camp you won’t want to miss.
 
This camp is aimed at rising first graders through rising fifth graders.

Girls Soccer Camp

Monday, June 17th – Friday, July 12th
Event Policy: Families have until May 31st to get a refund if they choose to cancel their attendance at a camp. No refunds will be given after May 31st.
 
Location: Lower Field
 
CCHS girls’ soccer camps provide players a rounded soccer experience covering a broad range of soccer techniques, skills, and tactics. Players will be challenged at an appropriate level while receiving instruction in a fun, positive environment. Grades: rising 5-8th graders.

Equipment: cleats, running shoes, shin guards, a water bottle, a snack, and a swimsuit/towel.

Girls’ soccer camp is offered across two different weeks. Families can select from the below dates.

June 17 – 21, mornings 8:30am to 12pm
or July 8 – 12, mornings from 8:30am to 12pm

Beach Volleyball Camps

Monday, July 8th – Friday, July 19th

Location: Beach Volleyball Courts
 
Welcome to Beach Volleyball Camp! Campers will spend the week increasing their fitness & athletic ability. Beach volleyball camp focuses on improving fundamental skills, team building and scrimmaging. All athletes are welcome!! 
This camp is open to sixth Graders, seventh Graders, and rising 8th Graders.

Track and Field Camp

Monday, July 8th – Friday, July 12th

Location: Manchester Stadium
 
Nothing is better than enjoying the California summer sunshine while competing and learning all about Track and Field! Join UCLA Track and Field Heptathlete and High Jumper alumni, Allie Eppers this summer to learn all about Track and Field! Come with or without any experience and be ready to train, explore, learn and most importantly, have fun! Events we will cover: Long Jump High Jump Hurdles Relay Races Sprints Mid/long distance running Shot put Strength and speed training. This camp is aimed at rising first graders, second graders, third graders, fourth graders, fifth graders, sixth graders, seventh graders, and rising 8th graders.

Don’s Aquatic Adventure Swim Camp!

Monday, July 15th – Friday, July 19th
Event Policy: Families have until May 31st to get a refund if they choose to cancel their attendance at a camp. No refunds will be given after May 31st.
 
Location: Pool 
 
Dons Aquatic Adventure is a week-long camp from 8:30 AM-12PM July 15-19th where campers will improve their swimming skills, learn pool safety, grow closer with other campers through pool games and strengthen their relationship with fellow campers. Each day will be balanced between crucial swimming skills such as learning strokes, learning how to dive, and improving on campers’ basic strokes, and pool games where these skills are then applied. At our camp, not only will campers grow closer through these various activities but will also finish out each day with a sweet treat. Please note that campers will be tested with a swim test on the first day of camp that includes basic water treading skills and ability to participate in the camp sufficiently.
 
This camp is led by two Cathedral Catholic seniors who are certified Coronado lifeguards. Proceeds from this camp will go toward the non-profit group, Black Star Polo.
 
Campers MUST be proficient swimmers in order to attend this camp. 
 
This camp is open to rising fourth graders through rising sixth graders.

Back To Basics!

Monday, July 15th – Friday, July 19th
Event Policy: Families have until May 31st to get a refund if they choose to cancel their attendance at a camp. No refunds will be given after May 31st.
 
Location: Classroom and campus
 
Join the Back to Basics camp for an exciting blend of sports games, friendly competition, and endless fun! Each day will have two parts- first, we will play a different sport (soccer, volleyball, basketball, kickball) and then we will have choice time filled with board games, crafts, art projects, and more! On Friday, we will have a water day! You don’t want to miss it!
 
This camp is for rising first through rising fifth graders.

**Pre-Camp Care**

Monday, June 17th – Friday, July 19th
Event Policy: Families have until May 23rd to get a refund if they choose to We will be offering pre-camp care for any campers that have to get to camp early! Parents can drop of their children as soon as 7am. The care goes from 7am to 8:15am when the campers will be brought to their morning camp. Campers will have access to board games and other easy-going morning fun!
