Field Hockey Secures First Win with Comeback Over Rancho Bernardo

Cathedral Catholic field hockey secured its first victory of the season with a hard-fought 2–1 comeback win over Rancho Bernardo. The Dons, who graduated 11 seniors last year, are still building chemistry and adjusting to new roles, now holding a 1–2 overall record.

Rancho Bernardo scored first, taking advantage of a corner just before halftime. The Dons responded in the second half as Kate Friedman ’28 and Tessa Granieri ’26 each scored, with assists from Audrey Zolfaghari ’26 and Madeline Brown ’26.

Emma Forester ’27 was exceptional in goal, recording 15 saves on 16 shots to secure the win.

The JV team also achieved a win against Rancho Bernardo, bringing their record to 2-0-1 as they prepare for their upcoming game against Torrey Pines. The Dons are looking to carry this momentum into their match on Friday.
