Girls Cross Country Take the Team Title at Mt. Sac
The San Diego Union Tribune

The following is an excerpt from The San Diego Union Tribune.
Cathedral Catholic defended its team title, low-scoring South Pasadena 78-126.
Lindsay Zimmer led the way with a fourth-place finish in 18:15, one spot ahead of teammate Scarlett Martin’s 18:27.
“We put in so much work it was good to win the team championship,” said Zimmer. “It shows hard work pays off. Coach told us how to race, to not get caught up in what other runners do, especially the first mile.
“We were back at the mile but then we started picking off the others. Coach says each runner you pass is another point for the team.”
Coach Dan Geiger was happy with the win but said he believes the best is yet to come.
“I’ll be happy when all seven of our runners have their best day,” said the coach of the section’s No. 1 team. “Our numbers 4-5-6 had very good days today. We’re close.”
