The Dons went 2-0 this week with wins over Poway High School and previously one-loss Westview High School.

On Wednesday, night the Dons recorded a 8-5 win over the Poway Titans – team effort led by goals from Captain Matt Matsuda, Nate Clark, Matt Cavanaugh, Vigo Garcia and Brady Nelson. Empty net “icing” was provided by Noah Hrabovsky.

Last night in a back and forth battle, the Dons trailed twice 1-0 and 2-1, but rallied each time to tie the score before pulling away with a clutch goal from Freshman Caden Brown and superb goal tending by Sophomore Sam Pothier. Sam’s brother Ben provided a rink-length pass to Matt Matsuda for the game-winner.

The wins helped the Dons improve their season record to 6-3-1 with a goal differential of +16. Next week the Dons play again on Wednesday at 8pm vs Escondido Charter and Thursday at 7pm vs. Del Norte High School at Escondido Kit Carson Park.
