HSSA – Night of Champions

2024 Night of Champions – Sponsored by the High School Sports Association (HSSA)

The 2024 Night of Champions was a memorable evening dedicated to honoring the hard work, dedication, and achievements of high school athletes, coaches and administrations from around the county for the successes from the previous school year. Cathedral Catholic High School proudly celebrated its seven championships (in CIF sports) with the coaches listed out below and athletic directors Noah Stevens and Colette Cope.

  • Coach Dan Geiger had an absolutely remarkable year, leading his teams to section titles in Division III Girls Cross Country and Division II Girls Track & Field. His Girls Cross Country team also ran away with the Division III State Championship!
  • Coach Juliana Conn shined, helping her teams claim two Open Division section titles —one in Girls Volleyball and another in Beach Volleyball.
  • Coach Tommy Corcoran also coached two teams to section championships in Open Division Boys Water Polo and Division II Boys Swim & Dive.
  • Coach Jackie Turpin guided her team, winning the Division I Girls Basketball championship.

We also want to recognize a couple of non-CIF championships won last year as well.

  • Coach Pat Bonner ’91- Beach Volleyball team dominated the league and won the Open Championship.
  • Coach Glenn Irvine led his Boys Rugby squad through another successful season and another SCIRF championship.
