Michael Riebe ’25 Dominates at the Junior President Cup
Cathedral Catholic is thrilled to celebrate senior student-athlete Michael Riebe, who played a pivotal role in Team USA’s dominant victory at the 2024 Junior Presidents Cup. As the number one golfer for Cathedral’s program, Michael’s exceptional performance on the international stage makes us incredibly proud.
The Junior Presidents Cup, held at Le Club Laval-sur-le-Lac in Canada, features the top 12 junior golfers (ages 12-18) from the United States and an International team made up of players from around the world, excluding Europe. Modeled after the Presidents Cup, the competition includes two days of intense match play, with foursomes and four-ball on Monday and singles matches on Tuesday.
Heading into Tuesday, the U.S. team held a narrow lead of 6½ to 5½. However, Michael Riebe and his teammates delivered a commanding performance in the singles matches, winning six and halving five of the 12 contests. The Americans dropped just one match, securing their fourth consecutive Junior Presidents Cup title. Michael, along with Jackson Byrd, Will Hartman, Logan Reilly, Asher Vargas, and Blades Brown, played a crucial role in clinching the victory. Check out the detailed results HERE.

Michael’s achievements on this prestigious international stage not only highlight his remarkable talent but also reflect the dedication and hard work he brings to Cathedral Catholic’s golf program. Michael has verbally committed to play college golf at Vanderbilt University next year. We are incredibly proud of him and look forward to watching him continue to succeed both on and off the course.
