Roller Hockey Secures Two Wins in One Night
The Cathedral Catholic Dons Inline Hockey team had a bye week last week while four players competed at the High School National Championship Playoffs in Minnesota. The San Diego Central Jets finished 2-2 and reached the Quarter Finals before being eliminated. Congratulations to seniors Nathan Clark and Vigo Garcia, junior Vison Ha, and freshman Conner Bray.
The Dons made up for the bye week with a rare doubleheader on Wednesday night, March 25th. In the first game, the Dons triumphed 9-1 over Westview, with sophomore Kellan Morneau earning a hat trick and freshman goalie Conner Bray recording a shutout until the final minutes of the third period.
The second half of the twin games was a 15-4 rout of Del Norte, with hat tricks recorded by seniors Madeline Brown and Nathan Clark. Every skater scored at least one goal, and Conner Bray again took care of the goaltending. The Dons next game is on Wednesday, April 1, against the San Diego Inline Composite team at 6 pm.
The Dons plan to honor their seniors and parents on Wednesday, April 8, with a pregame ceremony at 5:45 pm before the 6 pm game against Classical Academy. The Dons will close out the regular season on Wednesday, April 15, against Poway at 6:45 pm. All games are at Kit Carson Park in Escondido. The Dons season record now stands at 6-1.
