West Coast Regional Success
What a weekend it was for the Cathedral Catholic High School rowing team! With determination and skill, our athletes showcased their prowess on the water, securing four coveted spots at the National Championship in New Jersey this May 25-26th, with the potential for even more to join them.
Leading the charge were our Boys JV 4x, comprised of Enzo Bernardo, Nicholas Roberts, Liam Steele, and Tyler MacRae. Their performance was nothing short of exceptional as they left their competition trailing behind, securing a spot in the championship with ease.
Not to be outdone, Riley Fiedler represented the Boys Varsity 1x category, dominating the distance and securing another spot for CCHS at the Nationals.
The Boys Varsity 4+ was approved for their petition 1 day after their submission, recognizing the caliber that the Cathedral Catholic rowing team brings to Nationals.
The Girls Frosh 4x faced tough competition but emerged victorious with a stellar performance from Annika Nies, Julia Lopez, Ysabel Brenner, and Misato (Mimi) Earley, showcasing their determination and teamwork.
In the Girls Varsity Ltwt 2x event, our Dons raced in a combined event, both weighing less than 130lbs, demonstrating their agility and strength on the water.
But the success doesn’t end there. While four boats have already qualified, Cathedral is petitioning for five more, with three of them finishing 2nd or 3rd by a razor-thin margin of less than 3 seconds. The Boys V Ltwt 2x, Boys Frosh 4x, Girls JV 2x, and Girls JV 4x are all vying for their chance to join their teammates at the National Championship.
