Winter All-League and All-CIF Selections

It was another phenomenal winter season for the Dons! Cathedral Catholic teams brought home multiple City League titles, a CIF San Diego Section Championship, and a CIF State Regional crown. Along the way, our athletes delivered standout performances, earning well-deserved recognition on All-League and All-CIF teams.

We’re proud to celebrate 24 athletes named to All-League teams and 4 earning prestigious All-CIF honors. Congratulations to all of our winter sports teams and athletes for their exceptional achievements!

Highlighting our standouts:

Girls Water Polo’s Francesca McNeil ’28 was named Eastern Conference Athlete of the Year and Hailey Romano ’25 were named second team All-CIF while helping lead their team to the trifecta: League, CIF DII and State Regional DIII titles. They finished the year an impressive 27-4 overall while going undefeated in league play.
Girls Soccer took home their league title, with Olivia Dianda ’26 being named both Western League Athlete of the Year and First Team All-CIF.
Boys Basketball, Girls Basketball, and Girls Soccer each qualified for the elite Open Division playoffs—representing the top 8 teams in San Diego County.
Boys Wrestling went undefeated in league play, claiming the Eastern League title for the first time since 2021. With all of their All-League selections returning next season, the Dons are poised for continued success.
Cathedral Catholic had 24 athletes named to All-League teams and 4 named to All-CIF teams.
