Hockey Improves to 5-3 Overall

The Roller Hockey team continued its strong season last Wednesday night, earning a 7-4 victory over Poway to improve its overall record to 5-3.

The Dons came out firing, jumping to a 3-0 lead in the first period behind goals from juniors Vigo Garcia (2) and Nathaniel Clark. Poway battled back, cutting the lead to 3-2, but sophomore goalie Jackson Mann made several clutch saves to preserve the advantage heading into the third.

After Poway briefly took a 4-3 lead, sophomore Luke Ring responded with a key goal to even the score. From there, it was all Cathedral as freshman Kellan Morneau took over, netting a third-period hat trick to power the Dons to a commanding 7-4 win.

The team closes out the regular season this Wednesday at 7:30 p.m. against the undefeated SD Inline South Combined team (7-0-1). Playoffs begin next Wednesday, with a potential doubleheader starting with a 6 p.m. rematch against Del Norte.
